Earning potential

Flower Brokers work on commission only. They are self employed.

They set thier own commission rates.

These rates range from 10% - 12.5% charged on the total purchase amount depending on the broker and their client type.

Average spend of a client is dependant on the type of client and their location.

Florists will spend on average between $400 - $1500 per day
Fruit Shops will spend on average between $600 - $2000 per day
Wholesalers will spend on average between $1500 - $3000 per day

Income for a flower broker depends on a few different things.

  1. Motivation: How motivated is the flower broker to find and maintain a client relationship?
  2. Skill: How much does the flower broker know or how quickly can they get up to speed on flowers.
  3. Opportunity: How well can a flower broker deal with their client to utilize "buying opportunities" in the marketplace.
  4. Access to product from the source: Being able to consistantly access products from the farms is the key to success. This is what is provided at Christensen Flower Auction.
